Example Post-Lilly crouched behind a tree and watched the elk herd. Her breath came in short, hurried gasps, and her heart fluttered in her chest. She knew it was too late now. The elk had seen her. If she attacked, they would try to outrun her. She closed her eyes briefly and tried to steady her body. She hoped the elk would forget about her and go back to their grazing. Then she would do what she had come to do, hunt. She crouched through the low grass looking for an elderly or sick elk. She had found one she crouched even lower in the light yellow grass getting as close as she could to it then she jumped on the back of the elderly elk and grabbed its neck with her powerful jaws. Lilly stayed on the best she could while the animal was bucking and kicking. Dirt was stirred up every where then the next thing she heard was a large thud. The elk was down but it was down on her. Lilly cried out for help but heard nothing but the hoofbeats of the other elk trampoling away. She yipped and yowled in pain still crying for help. Lilly could barely breathe and was going in and out of consciousness and finally just blacked out as soon as she heard the other foot steps of wolves trying to help her. When she woke she was back at camp the elk next to her. Glad to be home she started eating with her family.
